族群遺傳學 (Population Genetics) 為遺傳學 (Genetics) 的一支，藉由探討族群間或族群內世代的遺傳變異，可應用於畜產動物或野生動物族群相關研究上，例如，世代間遺傳歧異度的變化或是族群/物種間的類緣關係分析等，同時納入了還靜音子、族群大小、個體的遷出/遷出以及基因突變等因子對族群遺傳結構的影響程度。本課程旨在基於基礎的遺傳學觀念之上，以「族群」為主體來思考遺傳結構等相關議題，亦可進一步將之應用於畜產動物的生產與管理。

Population Genetics is a branch of genetics. It can be applied to research on livestock or wild animal populations by exploring the genetic variation between generations or within generations. For example, changes in genetic diversity between generations or analysis of kinship relationships between populations/species, etc. It also takes into account the impact of factors such as subgroups, population size, individual migration/immigration, and gene mutations on the genetic structure of the population. This course aims to use "population" as the main body to think about genetic structure and other related issues based on the basic concepts of genetics. It can also be further applied to the production and management of livestock animals.
