藝術史的發展並非單一線性演進，它涉及到不同地區的思潮演變、詮釋者對歷史中的視覺藝術進行的脈絡書寫風格。因此，在美術系的基礎上學習藝術史，便是幫助學習者能夠從學術研究的視野認識藝術的定義，從中瞭解各個時代之間不同的藝術表現與內涵，以及藝術現代化的脈絡關係。

透過觀察藝術作品和文本分析的方式來訓練自我思想的能力，以及對圖像與意涵之間關聯的敏感度，以此加深個人對視覺藝術存在價值的了解。以至於在最後，能夠寫出一份有自己觀點的報告。

The development of art history is not a single linear evolution. It involves the evolution of ideological trends in different regions and the contextual writing styles of interpreters on visual art in history. Therefore, studying art history on the basis of the Department of Fine Arts helps learners understand the definition of art from the perspective of academic research, and understand the different artistic expressions and connotations of various eras, as well as the context of art modernization.

Through the observation of works of art and text analysis, you can train your ability to think and be sensitive to the relationship between images and meanings, thereby deepening your personal understanding of the value of visual art. So that in the end, I was able to write a report with my own point of view.

本課程範圍分為兩部分。第一部分為古典西洋美術史，以時序發展為主，涵蓋範圍從史前文明至十九世紀印象派。第二部分著重在現代主義，以運動、派別及形式等作為主要分類。

This course scope is divided into two parts. The first part is the history of classical Western art, focusing on chronological development, covering the range from prehistoric civilization to 19th century Impressionism. The second part focuses on modernism, with movements, factions and forms as the main categories.
