We will study two basic concepts in this class:
(1) the derivative of a function at some point, a concept motivated by computing the slope of a tangent line through a point in the graph of a function; (2) the definite integral of a function over an interval, a concept motivated by evaluating the area of the region under the graph of a positive function on an interval.
We will also study the connection beween these two concepts and some of their applications.
