本課程是學期課，因此本課程規劃以「德國近現代史」為主要授課內容。本課程的教學目標有下列三點：1.德國是歐洲最重要的國家之一，自近代以來她在文化上的成就和政經的發展，不但影響整個歐洲，而且影響整個世界。此外，她自1871年以來，歷經帝國的創建和擴張，第一次世界大戰的挫敗，威瑪共和的散漫與無能，以及納粹獨裁專政崛起後，妄想稱霸歐洲和統治整個世界而敗亡。戰後國土被列強分區佔領而分裂成東、西德兩國，但分裂45年後，東、西德於1900年10月3日又重歸統一。新統一的德國又慢慢發展成為歐洲「潛在的霸權」，和世界舉足輕重的國家。因此，我們對她的在近現代歷史的演進和文化的發展，應該加以認識和了解。2.增進選修同學對歐洲的了解。3.同時培養同學的國際觀與世界觀。This course is a periodical course, so this course plan is based on "Morning Modern History of Germany" as the main teaching content.
