This intermediate economic course aims to help students to deepen their understanding of the economy at the macro level. Focus is placed on the functioning of the macroeconomy, of which the temporal dimension (from the short run, the medium run, through to the long run) and the spatial dimension (from the closed economy to the open economy) are examined with equal weight. Essential concepts and analytic tools are presented with a view to encouraging students to develop their capability of both explaining and predicting phenomena in the world macroeconomy today.

This course introduces the theoretical content and policy implications of the general schools, and explores the role of the government in economic society. The content covers classical school, Keiners school, currency school, Neo-Entertainment Classic school, Newcomer Keiners school, real-life environment, supply-to-face school and economic growth theory.
