經濟學包含個體經濟學及總體經濟學兩大部份，內容相當廣泛。以一門兩學分單學期的課程，由於時間的限制，內容上必須有所取捨。就法律系學生的需求及實用性，在去蕪存菁後，本門課程將主要著重在基本經濟理論的應用及部份總體經濟的主題。學生透過本課程應可應用基本的經濟原理分析日常生活碰到的有關經濟議題，使學生能將經濟學生活化是本課程欲達到的主要目標。

Economics includes two parts: individual economics and overall economics, and its content is quite extensive. As a two-credit, single-semester course, due to time constraints, some choices must be made in content. In view of the needs and practicality of law students, after eliminating the unnecessary and retaining the essential, this course will mainly focus on the application of basic economic theory and some general economic topics. Through this course, students should be able to apply basic economic principles to analyze relevant economic issues encountered in daily life. The main goal of this course is to enable students to apply economics to daily life.

經濟學是研究如何把稀少性資源，做最有效率配置的一門學問，旨在探討人們在有限的資源下如何做選擇，以及人們所選擇的活動，會造成什麼樣的結果。因此，經濟學也可說是一門研究選擇的科學。本課程介紹基本經濟學概念及分析工具，用來研究如何把有限資源配置到各個彼此互斥的用途上，以期對經濟活動（行為） 有深入的瞭解。課程內容涵蓋個體經濟學及總體經濟學。個體經濟內容包括：理性選擇方法、市場如何運作、市場失靈與政府角色、訊息不對稱、法律之經濟分析等。總體經濟內容包括：總體經濟探討議題、國民所得的意義、物價膨脹與失業、貨幣與金融市場、國際經濟等。

Economics is a discipline that studies how to allocate scarce resources in the most efficient manner. It aims to explore how people make choices with limited resources and what consequences the activities people choose will produce. Therefore, economics can also be said to be a science that studies choices. This course introduces basic economic concepts and analytical tools, which are used to study how limited resources are allocated to mutually exclusive uses, in order to gain an in-depth understanding of economic activities (behavior). The course content covers individual economics and general economics. Individual economic content includes: rational choice methods, how the market operates, market failure and the role of government, information asymmetry, economic analysis of law, etc. General economic content includes: general economic discussion issues, the significance of national income, price inflation and unemployment, currency and financial markets, international economy, etc.
