本課程主要目標在於讓受教者對臺灣歷史過程有一基本的瞭解，並藉此培養受教者對先民積極的開荒拓土精神之傚法。以此，讓學習者本著愛鄉愛土之情操與宏關的視野，能夠成為承先啟後繼往開來的新時代公民。

The main goal of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of Taiwan's historical process, and to cultivate students' ability to imitate the pioneering spirit of their ancestors. In this way, learners can become citizens of the new era who inherit the past and open up the future based on the sentiment of loving their hometown and the land and a broad perspective.

以當前台灣的時空為基點，站在台灣主體性的立場上，來介紹台灣的歷史，反省台灣的過去理性地與過去對話，希望將歷史與現實結合，讓台灣的歷史能對我們的現實生活產生啟發與教育的作用，進而培養宏遠的世界觀。

Based on the current time and space of Taiwan, and from the standpoint of Taiwan's subjectivity, we will introduce Taiwan's history, reflect on Taiwan's past, and rationally dialogue with the past. We hope to combine history with reality, so that Taiwan's history can inspire and educate our real life, and then cultivate a grand world view.
