雲端計算(Cloud Computing)與大資料(Big Data)是目前資訊科技領域相當受到重視的新興分支。承接分散式計算、公共計算、網格計算等大規模計算環境的發展，雲端運算的環境可以分為公有雲、私有雲、混合雲等三大類型，在服務上面有底層的IaaS、中間層的PaaS與上層的SaaS三種服務模式。另外，面對每天不斷產生、具有3V(速度velocity、巨量volume、多樣性variety)特性的超大數據，如何處理是非重關鍵的。本課程一方面透過課堂講解，讓同學們了解雲端計算各個層面，也有實作課程，透過Apache Hadoop平台學習Map Reduce平行運算架構，另外也會透過邀請校外專家學者進行專題演講的方式，從各個面向了解雲端計算的本質、技術與商業模式。

Cloud Computing and Big Data are emerging branches that are currently receiving considerable attention in the field of information technology. Undertaking the development of large-scale computing environments such as distributed computing, public computing, and grid computing, cloud computing environments can be divided into three major types: public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud. There are three service models of bottom-layer IaaS, middle-layer PaaS, and upper-layer SaaS. In addition, in the face of extremely large data that is continuously generated every day and has the characteristics of 3V (velocity, huge volume, and variety), how to deal with it is not critical. On the one hand, this course allows students to understand all aspects of cloud computing through classroom lectures. It also has practical courses to learn the Map Reduce parallel computing architecture through the Apache Hadoop platform. In addition, it also invites experts and scholars from outside the school to give special lectures to understand the essence, technology and business model of cloud computing from all aspects.
