There are about 11.9 million people in the world who speak German, and it is also the mother language of 101 million Europeans. Therefore, German is the most widely used language in Europe and its usage rate ranks tenth in the world. Speaking German can give you many opportunities to enrich your life and improve your understanding of European cultural characteristics.
