教導學生認識有機官能基的轉換，引導學生從記憶學習轉向概念學習，並且使學生瞭解化合物之化學與物理性質。本課程的目標在於教育學生具有有機化學專業知識，學習以碳為核心的有機化合物分類、國際命名規則、物性原理及從化性探討有機化合物的製備與，教學過程經由講述、分析思考、總結、歸納形成、評量等方法提升學生對有機反應及化合物的瞭解與興趣。主要教學內容包括 一、有機化合物的構造 二、有化合物的物理性質 三、化合物的製備 四、有機反應機制及化合物的合成。
