加強英文閱讀理解能力、為高年級核心課程作預備。精進普通生物學之教學以及奠立大一學生紥實的生物學識基礎、銜接本系大學部二年級「生物學研究導論」及三四年級「生物醫學專題論文」及「生態學專題論文」課程，讓學生在知識、閱讀能力、實作能力的養成教育上，提供一貫的發展脈絡。本課程預期奠定學生未來在學識（遺傳學及分子生物學）和研究實作（生物醫學專題論文及生態學專題論文）的基礎能力。

Strengthen English reading comprehension skills and prepare for senior core courses. To improve the teaching of general biology and lay a solid foundation of biological knowledge for first-year students, it connects the "Introduction to Biological Research" courses for second-year students and the "Biomedical Thesis" and "Ecology Thesis" courses for third- and fourth-year students in the undergraduate department, so as to provide students with a consistent development path in the development of knowledge, reading ability, and practical ability. This course is expected to lay the foundation for students' future basic abilities in knowledge (genetics and molecular biology) and research practice (biomedical thesis and ecological thesis).
