經濟學是一門分析人類行為的科學。本課程將建立學生經濟學的基本概念、思考方式與分析方法。主要目的在於培養學生運用經濟學系統性的方式分析經濟社會上各種問題，瞭解問題的本質與其涉及層面。

經濟學為一學年的課程，上學期的重點將會在介紹個體經濟學，而總體經濟學則於下學期介紹。本課程內容包含: 經濟學概論、經濟問題與供需法則、消費者理論（含跨期與不確定性下之消費選擇）、廠商理論與市場結構（含成本理論與競爭策略）、資訊不對稱、外部性與公共財。

Economics is a science that analyzes human behavior. This course will establish basic concepts, ways of thinking and analysis methods for students' economics. The main purpose is to train students to analyze various problems in economic society in an economic system, understand the nature of the problems and their involvement.

Economics is a year of course, the focus of the first period will be on introducing individual economics, while the overall economics will be introduced in the next period. The contents of this course include: economic overview, economic issues and supply and demand laws, consumer theory (including consumer choices over time and uncertainties), manufacturer theory and market structure (including cost theory and competition strategies), inconsistent information, externalities and public finance.
