經濟學是一門分析人類行為的科學。本課程將建立學生經濟學的基本概念、思考方式與分析方法。主要目的在於培養學生運用經濟學系統性的方式分析經濟社會上各種問題，瞭解問題的本質與其涉及層面。
經濟學為一學年的課程，上學期的重點將會在介紹個體經濟學，而總體經濟學則於下學期介紹。本課程內容包含: 經濟學概論、經濟問題與供需法則、消費者理論（含跨期與不確定性下之消費選擇）、廠商理論與市場結構（含成本理論與競爭策略）、資訊不對稱、外部性與公共財。Economics is the science that analyzes human behavior. This course will establish students’ basic concepts, ways of thinking and analysis methods in economics. The main purpose is to train students to use the systematic approach of economics to analyze various economic and social problems and understand the nature of the problems and their involved levels.
Economics is a one-year course. The focus of the first semester will be on individual economics, while general economics will be introduced in the second semester. The content of this course includes: Introduction to Economics, Economic Issues and Laws of Supply and Demand, Consumer Theory (including intertemporal and uncertainty consumption choices), Firm Theory and Market Structure (including cost theory and competitive strategy), Information Asymmetry, Externalities and public goods.
