文學家王爾德曾說：「在惠斯勒的畫之前，倫敦沒有霧」，此話意謂著倫敦雖長間處於灰霧濃鎖，然而，人們卻處身霧中而無所感知，幸有畫家惠斯勒畫作，方使人們意識到霧的無所不在。由此，我們可以明瞭審美藝術其中一項功能，實在幫助人類看見－看見生活中視而不見，視若無睹的東西。這學期的大一中文即是希望能在此概念下，使同學體認及思考文學獨特的見霧﹧見悟概念，透過文學藝術的審美特質、文化價值、社會批判，帶領同學重新審視生活中原本存在，然而卻是視而不見的重要事物，使文學與社會之間相互彰顯、輝映。
