透過旅遊飲食、鄉土文化、與自然生態三大主題的選讀與賞析，一則能認識文學的藝術特質與表現方式，欣賞文學作品之藝術美感，進而掌握各類文體的寫作要領。一則透過各單元的主題閱讀，從自我的情感意識，延伸至所處的家國社會、族群與環境之思辨反省，三則培養對生態與社會文化的多元觀察能力與關懷的態度，從而了解人類與萬物生活的各種時空關係，作為當代與未來生活的借鏡與參考。

Through the selection and appreciation of the three major themes of tourism and food, local culture, and natural ecology, one can understand the artistic characteristics and expression methods of literature, appreciate the artistic beauty of literary works, and then master the writing essentials of various literary styles. First, through thematic reading of each unit, it extends from self-emotional awareness to reflection on the home, country, society, ethnic group and environment; third, it cultivates multiple observation abilities and caring attitudes towards ecology and social culture, so as to understand the various time and space relationships between human beings and all living things, as a mirror and reference for contemporary and future life.
