本課程是學習刑法之通論，亦是接下來學習刑法分則之前，必須先有通盤認識的課程。由於刑法總則的理論非常抽象，初學者往往因無法確實掌握，而容易產生挫折，故本課程以連貫及活潑之教學方法，將學生引導至理解刑法及喜愛刑法之學習效果，即嘗試讓學生以輕鬆的心情，進入學習刑法的大門。課程中並輔以圖表及實際案例解說之方式，教導學生思考學習刑法的目的及解決問題的方法，使學生能夠從中獲得學習的樂趣與效果，以期學生能夠掌握刑法總責的理論並加以運用。

This course is about learning the general theory of criminal law. It is also a course that requires a comprehensive understanding before studying the specific principles of criminal law. Since the theory of general principles of criminal law is very abstract, beginners often fail to master it and are prone to frustration. Therefore, this course uses a coherent and lively teaching method to guide students to understand criminal law and enjoy the learning effect of criminal law. That is, it attempts to allow students to enter the door of learning criminal law with a relaxed mood. The course is supplemented by diagrams and practical case explanations to teach students to think about the purpose of learning criminal law and how to solve problems, so that students can gain the fun and effect of learning, and hope that students can master the theory of criminal law liability and apply it.

刑法乃規定犯罪及法律效果之刑罰的關係之行為規範，而刑法總則為刑法規定共同適用之準則，亦為研習刑事法之基礎，其於犯罪之基本觀念及刑罰之終極目的，在理論方面固值作深入之比較研究，而在實際運用上，尤須注意其妥適性。

Criminal law is a code of conduct that stipulates the relationship between crime and legal effects of punishment, and the general principles of criminal law are the standards for common application of criminal law provisions and are also the basis for the study of criminal law. It is worthy of in-depth comparative study in theory on the basic concepts of crime and the ultimate purpose of punishment. In practical application, special attention must be paid to its appropriateness.
