教育目標 Course Target
近年來,隨著人口高齡化及生活水準的提高,全球醫療需求及醫療照護費持續增長,醫療器材市場正躍躍欲試。在國際潮流的影響之下,台灣醫材產業也正蓄勢待發,前景大為看好。有鑑於此,人才的培養就顯得格外重要。課程從不同領域之專業角度,介紹臨床醫療運用上的創新價值,進而激發學生產生創意改良設計,尋求創業機會。東海大學在國立成功大學前瞻醫療器材技術中心協助下,通過此教學亮點計畫將國家實驗研究院科技政策研究和資訊中心與美國Stanford大學合作執行的五年期“醫療器材產品設計之人才培訓計畫”(Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program,以下簡稱STB計畫)之課程帶進東海大學。此課程的原本設計目的為通過跨國、跨校、跨院、跨系的結合,拓寬及加深學生在醫療器材各方面的訓練及知識。課程教授團隊皆是經STB計畫於Standford為期一年訓練之學員,都具有高階醫療產品設計及商業化運用之實務經驗。
希望通過此教學亮點計畫的執行,讓東海大學工學院、理學院、農學院、創意設計暨藝術學院的學生能接觸學習到美國Stanford大學STB計畫的課程內容與理念,達到與世界一流大學的接軌,以及培育高階醫療器材產品設計及產業化實務的“跨領域種子人才”的目的。
In recent years, as the population ages and living standards improve, global medical demand and medical care costs continue to grow, and the medical device market is eager to take the plunge. Under the influence of international trends, Taiwan's medical materials industry is also gaining momentum, with promising prospects. In view of this, the cultivation of talents is particularly important. The course introduces the innovative value of clinical medical applications from professional perspectives in different fields, thereby stimulating students to generate creative improvement designs and seek entrepreneurial opportunities. Tunghai University, with the assistance of National Cheng Kung University's Forward Medical Device Technology Center, has brought to Tunghai University the five-year "Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program (hereinafter referred to as the STB Program)" courses jointly implemented by the Science and Technology Policy Research and Information Center of the National Institute of Experimental Research and Stanford University in the United States through this teaching highlight project. The original design purpose of this course is to broaden and deepen students' training and knowledge in all aspects of medical equipment through cross-border, cross-school, cross-school, and cross-department integration. The course teaching team is all students who have received one-year training at Standford under the STB program, and they all have practical experience in the design and commercialization of high-end medical products.
It is hoped that through the implementation of this teaching highlight plan, students from Tunghai University's School of Engineering, School of Science, School of Agriculture, and School of Creative Design and Art will be exposed to the course content and concepts of the STB program of Stanford University in the United States, so as to achieve the goal of integrating with world-class universities and cultivating "cross-field seed talents" for high-end medical device product design and industrialization practice.

Through this course, students can understand the concept of innovative design of medical equipment, and cultivate students' innovative and creative design capabilities by combining actual design and operation.
