Understand the development of Western philosophy based on the philosophical content of philosophers. The goal of this semester: Socrates to the Hellenistic period

本課程講述西方哲學自古希臘經古羅馬至中世紀之發展與主要的各家思想。內容包括（一）先蘇時期的自然學﹔（二）辯士與蘇格拉底﹔（三）柏拉圖與亞里士多德﹔（四）希臘化時期的哲學﹔（五）基督宗教與教父哲學﹔（六）中世紀經院哲學。

This course describes the development of Western philosophy from ancient Greece through ancient Rome to the Middle Ages and the main thoughts of each school. The content includes (1) natural science in the pre-Soviet period; (2) the debaters and Socrates; (3) Plato and Aristotle; (4) philosophy in the Hellenistic period; (5) Christianity and patristic philosophy; (6) medieval scholasticism.
