本課程旨在帶領學生透過各種多元議題與視角，分析、詮釋並評論藝術作品在當代情境中的意義與價值，透過進行批判性思考和評價的過程，提供學生對作品、作者及其創作意識與社會關係之間的理解和評價。本課程將打破東西方藝術觀看的方式和賞析的視角，經過觀察和研究藝術作品的內容、形式、技術和創作背景等方面，並將其放置在相應的藝術歷史、文化背景和社會環境中進行梳理與討論，並從本課程的講授與課後指定作業的進行過程中，形塑藝術人文精神的學養，進而通達與人群、社會與藝術文化之關係。課程將以指定閱讀教材講授、分組討論和個人展覽書寫作業等方式進行。

This course aims to lead students to analyze, interpret and comment on the significance and value of works of art in contemporary situations through various diverse issues and perspectives. Through the process of critical thinking and evaluation, it provides students with an understanding and evaluation of the relationship between works, authors, their creative consciousness and society. This course will break the way of viewing and appreciating Eastern and Western art. By observing and studying the content, form, technology and creative background of art works, it will be placed in the corresponding art history, cultural background and social environment for sorting and discussion. Through the teaching of this course and the completion of assigned homework after class, it will shape the cultivation of art and humanistic spirit, and then understand the relationship with the crowd, society and art and culture. The course will be conducted through designated reading materials, group discussions, and writing assignments for personal exhibitions.

本課程的內容主要包含藝術批評理論與實踐的兩大部分。藝術批評理論主要是從一個歷史發展的觀點介紹這門學科在西方與中國、台灣的發展脈絡。實踐的部份主要是藉由書寫的練習來實踐課堂上所學習的藝術批評理論。

The content of this course mainly includes two parts: theory and practice of art criticism. Art criticism theory mainly introduces the development context of this discipline in the West, China and Taiwan from a historical development perspective. The practical part mainly involves practicing the art criticism theories learned in class through writing exercises.
