AI Aesthetics and Design Innovation
Course Target
(Design Critique)
This course takes "Poetic Making" as its core spirit and explores the role and potential of generative AI in design innovation and aesthetic practice. The course spans image generation, parametric architectural form, multi-agent workflow and visual communication, guiding students to reinterpret the creative subjectivity of AI tools from the perspective of design thinking.
The course will take the form of intensive workshops, with a total of six sessions, each lasting 5 to 6 hours. It combines theoretical introduction, tool implementation and design creation to encourage students to establish personal innovative design perspectives and humanistic aesthetic tastes under the AI-assisted design method. The course will integrate design competitions and industry-university cooperation practices to equip students with new qualities such as independent learning models, innovative thinking and technological empowerment in the face of the dramatic changes in industry paradigm shifts in the AI era.
teaching method
• Theoretical lectures and paper reading (2 hours before each class)
• Tool implementation and guided exercises (3 hours after each course, mainly Rhino MCP / Stable Diffusion / Claude)
• Group discussion and design critique (Design Critique)
• Personal design presentation and review at the end of term
