教育目標 Course Target
這門課介紹近代哲學 (十七和十八世紀) 中具有代表性的哲學家的思想，主要是理性主義者 Descartes、Leibniz、和 Spinoza，英國經驗論者 Locke、Berkeley、和 Hume，以及德國哲學家 Kant，並且部分地含蓋他們對於當代哲學 (二十世紀) 的影響。我們將透過解釋和討論這些哲學家關心的各個主題，包括懷疑論、心物問題、私有語言論證、上帝、因果關係、自由、和社會契約論等，讓大家對近代哲學有初步的認識。
This course introduces the thoughts of representative philosophers in modern philosophy (seventeenth and eighteenth centuries), mainly the rationalists Descartes, Leibniz, and Spinoza, the British empiricists Locke, Berkeley, and Hume, and the German philosopher Kant, and partially covers their influence on contemporary philosophy (twentieth century). We will give everyone a preliminary understanding of modern philosophy by explaining and discussing various topics that these philosophers were concerned about, including skepticism, the mind-matter problem, the private language argument, God, causality, freedom, and social contract theory.
