This course uses multiple teaching methods such as "lectures, discussions, image appreciation, issue analysis, and field trips" to guide students to understand Taiwan's aboriginal culture from aspects such as history, culture, society, and contemporary issues. The first half of the course focuses on the construction of basic knowledge. Through teacher lectures, case sharing and classroom discussions, it helps students understand the historical development, traditional social culture, music, dance, crafts and other cultural characteristics of Taiwan's aboriginal peoples, and establish a basic understanding of the cultural diversity of aboriginal peoples.

In the middle part of the course, video teaching materials such as documentaries, movies, and digital media will be combined to guide students to analyze the ways in which indigenous peoples are presented in different media, explore issues such as cultural representation, ethnic identity, and media power, and cultivate students' image reading and critical thinking abilities. At the same time, through the introduction and discussion of cases of social movements of indigenous peoples, such as the name rectification movement, the land return movement, hunting disputes and cultural revitalization actions, students can understand the historical context and contemporary significance of the indigenous peoples' struggle for cultural rights, land rights and autonomy.

The second half of the course will focus on tribal tourism, cultural industries and contemporary indigenous human rights issues. Through case analysis and group discussions, students will be guided to think about the relationship between cultural preservation, tourism development, economic interests and ethnic autonomy, and understand the importance of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and related human rights concepts to the development of contemporary indigenous peoples. In addition, the course will arrange off-campus visits or tribal cultural experience activities depending on the actual situation. Through on-site observation and cultural contact, students will enhance their understanding and respect for the living world of indigenous peoples. It is expected that through the study of this course, students will establish a multicultural perspective, improve cultural sensitivity and civic literacy, and be able to face cultural differences and public issues in Taiwan's multi-ethnic society with an attitude of respect, understanding and dialogue.
