Design and Fabrication of Intelligent Health Assistive Devices for Older Adults

教育目標 Course Target

本課程以「高齡者健康生活」與「智慧化輔具設計製造」為核心,透過短期密集工作坊形式,引導學生從高齡族群的日常生活情境、身心理特徵、照護需求與使用限制出發,進行問題觀察、需求定義、概念發想、智慧功能規劃、原型製作與使用情境驗證。課程強調以人為本的設計思維,結合人因工程、通用設計、產品開發、材料與製造程序、電腦輔助設計與數位製造等知識,使學生能將高齡健康議題轉化為具可行性、可使用性與社會關懷價值的輔具設計方案。
本課程的學習目標包括:第一,使學生理解高齡者在行動、握持、視聽、記憶、平衡、照護依賴與自主生活等面向的需求;第二,使學生能運用人因工程與使用者研究方法,分析高齡者與照護者的痛點;第三,使學生能將感測、提醒、互動、資料回饋、簡易AI判讀或物聯網概念導入輔具設計;第四,使學生能透過草模、3D建模、3D列印、CNC、雷切或Arduino等工具進行快速原型製作;第五,使學生能以情境測試、操作流程檢核與口頭簡報方式,完成一項具有健康促進、生活支持或照護輔助功能的智慧化高齡輔具概念原型。

This course is centered on "healthy living for the elderly" and "smart assistive device design and manufacturing". Through short-term intensive workshops, students are guided to conduct problem observation, demand definition, concept development, smart function planning, prototype production and usage scenario verification based on the daily life situations, physical and mental characteristics, care needs and usage restrictions of the elderly. The course emphasizes human-centered design thinking and combines knowledge of human factors engineering, universal design, product development, materials and manufacturing procedures, computer-aided design and digital manufacturing to enable students to transform elderly health issues into assistive device design solutions with feasibility, usability and social care value.
The learning goals of this course include: first, to enable students to understand the needs of the elderly in terms of movement, holding, audio-visual, memory, balance, care dependence, and independent living; second, to enable students to use human factors engineering and user research methods to analyze the pain points of the elderly and caregivers; third, to enable students to integrate sensing, reminders, interactions, data feedback, simple AI interpretation, or the Internet of Things Network concepts are introduced into the design of assistive devices; fourth, students are enabled to perform rapid prototyping through tools such as rough drafts, 3D modeling, 3D printing, CNC, Reacher or Arduino; fifth, students are enabled to complete a concept prototype of an intelligent assistive device for the elderly with functions of health promotion, life support or care assistance through situational testing, operational process review and oral presentation.
