教育目標 Course Target
本課程旨在奠定建築設計訓練的基礎,培養學生從操作中理解建築思維,並開始形塑個人對「建築」本質的初步認識與批判意識。透過一系列由不同指導教師規劃之設計課題,課程將引導同學們學習建築的核心組成,包括空間性、機能性、公共性與技術性等,並透過多元設計媒材的操作與反覆思辨的歷程,訓練學生整合複雜設計要素的能力。同時,課程重視設計過程中的節奏與紀律養成,使同學們能在時間與工作量的壓力下,逐步發展出具策略性與批判性的設計態度。本課程的設計課題將因不同教師而有所差異,但皆圍繞以下四大學習向度進行教學與評量:
1)建築創作的理解與實踐:同學將在不同設計情境下學習如何針對特定基地、使用者需求與社會脈絡提出建築構想,並以空間性、機能性、公共性與技術性等面向作為設計分析與回應的基礎。同時,培養學生在創作中能有意識地建構與表達建築理念,並回應多重議題的整合挑戰。
2)基礎建築構成能力的訓練:課程將持續強化學生對建築尺度、空間組構與構築細節的理解。同學將練習如何在設計中整合活動模式、空間秩序、結構系統與物理環境等多重面向,並透過樓梯、傢俱、開口、立面與舖面等設計元素操作,掌握空間的具體構成技法。
3)設計媒材與表達技術的熟練應用:承接大一所學之圖學與表現訓練,同學將在課程中進一步練習如何透過手繪圖面、電腦繪圖、實體模型與數位模擬等方式進行設計發想、操作與溝通。設計媒材不僅作為結果的呈現,更是設計思考與反覆驗證的工具。
4)設計過程中的紀律與時間管理:面對設計任務所需的龐大勞動與反覆修正過程,課程將協助學生培養具自我管理與規劃能力的工作習慣。透過階段性檢討、進度控制與設計日誌等方式,使同學能在實踐中理解專業設計訓練對工作紀律的要求,並逐步建立能支持長期創作的工作節奏。
This course aims to lay the foundation for architectural design training, cultivate students' understanding of architectural thinking through operation, and begin to shape their initial understanding and critical consciousness of the nature of "architecture". Through a series of design topics planned by different instructors, the course will guide students to learn the core components of architecture, including spatiality, functionality, publicity, technology, etc., and train students' ability to integrate complex design elements through the operation of multiple design media and the process of repeated thinking. At the same time, the course attaches great importance to the development of rhythm and discipline in the design process, so that students can gradually develop strategic and critical design attitudes under the pressure of time and workload. The design topics of this course will vary from teacher to teacher, but they will all be taught and assessed around the following four major learning dimensions:
1) Understanding and practice of architectural creation: Students will learn how to propose architectural ideas for specific sites, user needs and social context in different design situations, and use spatial, functional, public and technical aspects as the basis for design analysis and response. At the same time, students are trained to consciously construct and express architectural concepts in creation and respond to the integration challenges of multiple issues.
2) Training of basic architectural composition abilities: The course will continue to strengthen students’ understanding of architectural scale, spatial organization and construction details. Students will practice how to integrate multiple aspects such as activity patterns, spatial order, structural systems and physical environment in design, and master the specific composition techniques of space through the operation of design elements such as stairs, furniture, openings, facades and paving.
3) Proficient application of design media and expression techniques: Following the graphics and expression training learned in freshman year, students will further practice how to design ideas, operations and communication through hand-drawn graphics, computer drawings, physical models and digital simulations in the course. Design media not only serve as a presentation of results, but also a tool for design thinking and repeated verification.
4) Discipline and time management in the design process: Faced with the huge labor and repeated revision process required for design tasks, the course will help students develop work habits with self-management and planning abilities. Through periodic reviews, progress control and design logs, students can understand the requirements of professional design training for work discipline in practice, and gradually establish a work rhythm that can support long-term creation.
