建築設計是一連串複雜思想的綜合構築過程。大一基礎設計課程的主要任務在於拓寬同學的視野、建構獨特的思想觀點、學習豐富的表現能力。大一上學期設計課程主題將圍繞「空間的感知與表達」：從觀察日常現象開始，藉由表達與詮釋提煉出抽象邏輯，透過多層次的媒介的實驗，將其轉化為具體的空間語彙。訓練涵蓋語言描述、圖像表現、概念分析、符號記錄、姿態運動、感知與記憶等面向。同步配合表現法、圖學、建築敘事等課程進行練習。練習項目例如：空間尺度與人體尺寸的認識、空間的構成與建築元素的操作:墻、柱、梯、門、窗、光、水、影…、行為與機能的關係、空間組織訓練：層次的建立、水平與垂直空間的連繫、動線安排、空間個性的塑造與運用、基地環境與物環因素的初步認識、建築構造、材料與建築結構在空間上的關係、設計方法練習、抽象概念轉化與落實等等。

Architectural design is a comprehensive construction process of a series of complex ideas. The main task of the freshman basic design course is to broaden students' horizons, construct unique ideas and perspectives, and learn rich expressive abilities. The theme of the design course in the first semester of the freshman year will be around "Perception and Expression of Space": starting from observing daily phenomena, abstracting logic through expression and interpretation, and transforming it into a concrete spatial vocabulary through experiments with multi-level media. The training covers language description, image representation, concept analysis, symbol recording, gesture movement, perception and memory, etc. Practice simultaneously with courses such as representation, graphics, and architectural narrative. Practice items include: understanding of spatial scale and human body size, spatial composition and operation of architectural elements: walls, columns, ladders, doors, windows, light, water, shadow..., the relationship between behavior and function, spatial organization training: establishment of levels, connection of horizontal and vertical spaces, arrangement of moving lines, shaping and application of spatial personality, preliminary understanding of base environment and environmental factors, architectural structure, spatial relationship between materials and building structures, design method exercises, transformation and implementation of abstract concepts, etc.

一年級設計的課程將以訓練學生邏輯與抽象化思考為主，雖然不直接與建築相關，但會讓學生學習如何從平面的二度到立體的三度空間，並配合一年級其他必修課程，像建築表現法，建築概論，培養學生掌握表達建築想法的各項工具。到一年級下學期才會有與建築相關的建築空間練習。這學期將會有3-5個設計練習是題目，這些題目包括了紙上作業與一比一與的練習，內容主要是了解人體尺度與空間的關係，可以讓我提早了解學生的情況，特別在低年級階段需要掌握他們的學習程度，像紀律，在系館工作等。

The first-year designed courses will focus on training students to think logically and abstractly. Although not directly related to architecture, they will allow students to learn how to move from a two-dimensional plane to a three-dimensional space. In conjunction with other first-year compulsory courses, such as Architectural Expression Methods and Introduction to Architecture, students will be trained to master various tools for expressing architectural ideas. There will be no architectural space exercises related to architecture until the second semester of first grade. There will be 3-5 design exercises this semester. These questions include paper assignments and one-to-one exercises. The content is mainly about understanding the relationship between human scale and space. It allows me to understand the students' situation in advance, especially in the lower grades, where I need to understand their learning level, such as discipline, work in the department, etc.
