本課程介紹生物學給生命科學專業的學生，為進入生命科學領域奠定紮實的基礎。
課程目的在使未來專業在分子生物、遺傳工程、生態保育或跨學科之領域的學生，皆能因充分認識地球上的生物多樣性與生態系統而認知生命現象及其豐富。本學期課程藉講演和視聽教材依序介紹生物的起源與演化，認識微生物、植物與動物的多樣性、形態結構和生理功能。

This course introduces biology to life science majors and lays a solid foundation for entering the life science field.
The purpose of the course is to enable future students majoring in molecular biology, genetic engineering, ecological conservation or interdisciplinary fields to fully understand the biological diversity and ecosystems on the earth and appreciate the phenomena and richness of life. This semester's course uses lectures and audio-visual teaching materials to introduce the origin and evolution of living things in sequence, and to understand the diversity, morphological structure and physiological functions of microorganisms, plants and animals.
