社會工作作為訓練專業性助人的學門，有別於單純的慈善助人，旨在培養助人工作者「能夠也願意關懷、服務並終身學習」的態度，並且訓練社工學生從care到serve的歷程中，透過反思與反身的能力訓練獲得learn的展現，並在這往復的過程中增強評估與服務能力，以突顯出社會工作助人的專業性。

本課程以兩條軸線貫穿四個單元。第一條軸線聚焦高中至大學的轉銜，透過自我探索活動，協助學生準備進入社工系的學習，並搭配專題演講及課程活動，拓展對社會工作職涯的想像。第二條軸線以實際服務為學習場域，引導學生在與服務對象互動的過程中，練習觀察需求、理解差異，並反思自身的角色與行動。透過自我探索與服務實踐的相互連結，逐步形成對助人工作的理解與個人的學習方向。

Social work, as a discipline that trains professional people to help others, is different from pure charity help. It aims to cultivate the attitude of "being able and willing to care, serve and learn lifelong" among helping workers. It also trains social work students to learn through reflection and reflexive ability training in the process from care to service, and to enhance their evaluation and service abilities in the process to highlight the professionalism of social work in helping people.

This course runs through four units on two axes. The first axis focuses on the transition from high school to university. Through self-exploration activities, it helps students prepare to enter the social work department, and is paired with special lectures and course activities to expand their imagination of social work careers. The second axis uses actual service as the learning field, guiding students to practice observing needs, understanding differences, and reflecting on their own roles and actions during the process of interacting with service objects. Through the interconnection of self-exploration and service practice, an understanding of the work of helping others and a personal learning direction are gradually formed.
