這門課「不是」從軍事戰略或國際關係的角度討論戰爭。課程聚焦在戰爭的本質、類型，以及跟社會生活的關係。戰爭為何是一種特殊的集體暴力和動員現象？如何形塑人的認知、身體與生命？戰爭跟現代國家的關係？戰爭留下了哪些長期社會心理影響？課程初步規劃以下主軸，並搭配台灣、亞洲與世界相關案例討論 (正式版請見開學第一週課綱)：

1.) 戰爭的本質與類型 (科技、自然資源、貿易、心理宣傳...)
2.) 戰爭、身體與生命治理
3.) 戰爭從未停止？戰爭遺緒、民防與民主韌性

This course does NOT discuss war from the perspective of military strategy or international relations. The course focuses on the nature and types of war, as well as its relationship with social life. Why is war a special phenomenon of collective violence and mobilization? How to shape human cognition, body and life? What is the relationship between war and modern states? What are the long-term psychosocial effects of the war? The course initially plans the following main axes, coupled with case discussions related to Taiwan, Asia and the world (for the official version, please see the syllabus for the first week of school):

1.) Nature and types of war (technology, natural resources, trade, psychological propaganda...)
2.) War, body and life governance
3.) The war never stops? War legacy, civil defense and democratic resilience
