本課程係歷史學系核心必修課，旨在教導大學部同學"何謂歷史研究"以及"如何進行歷史研究"。上學期的課程將教授學生如何搜尋二手資料、如何選題、擬題，並介紹歷史學的各種專題領域如何進行；下學期的課程將以史料學為核心，教授學生各種史料的不同性質以及使用方法。一學年的課程中，使修課同學掌握歷史學研究方法、掌握史學研究的具體程序，並訓練獨立思考、探討與解決史學問題的能力

This course is a core required course in the Department of History, aiming to teach undergraduate students "what historical research is" and "how to conduct historical research." The course in the last semester will teach students how to search for secondary information, how to select and formulate topics, and introduce how to proceed in various thematic areas of history; the course in the next semester will focus on historical materials, teaching students the different properties and usage methods of various historical materials. In the one-year course, students will be able to master historical research methods, master specific procedures of historical research, and train their ability to think independently, explore and solve historical problems.

3.訓練獨立思考、探討與解決史學問題的能力。

本課程為一學年（上、下）之課程，上學期所進行之研究回顧，為下學期所繳交完整專題研究計畫之一部分。上、下學期之作業應按每週進度與步驟繳交。上學期「作業」包含：問題意識、主題選擇、研究成果搜尋、史料蒐集、研究成果分類、史料運用方法。下學期「專題研究計畫」包含：計畫之動機、目的、研究回顧、參考文獻、研究方法、進行步驟、執行進度、預期完成之工作項目及成果。

2. Master the specific procedures of historical research.
3. Train the ability to think independently, discuss and solve historical problems.

This course is for one academic year (first and second semester). The review of the research conducted in the previous semester is part of the complete thematic research plan to be submitted in the next semester. Assignments for the previous and next semesters should be submitted according to weekly progress and steps. The "homework" last semester included: problem awareness, topic selection, research results search, historical data collection, research results classification, and historical data application methods. The "Special Research Plan" for the next semester includes: the motive, purpose, research review, references, research methods, steps, execution progress, expected completion of work projects and results of the project.
