道教屬於有系統、有制度、有教理的高等宗教，與民間認知的道教信仰概念有懸殊的差別。本課程擬根據學術界的研究成果進行概說，使同學能對道教的基本內涵建立較有系統且可靠的認知。在課程安排上。本課程會將道教分為兩大部分：第一是道教成立之前的宗教傳統，包括先秦兩漢的信仰狀態、《太平經》、五斗米道、天師道，以迄於上清派與靈寶派的出現；第二則是道教常見但又頻繁被人誤解的專題，如經典的創造(天書篆文與道經系統)、科儀的功能(齋醮科儀)、道教的神聖地理(洞天福地)、神仙信仰(神仙三品說)、修練方法(存神、服氣、金丹等)、仙傳文學(漢武帝內傳)、末世論（真君李弘）。藉此，期能使同學理解道教如何滲透到中國文學、哲學與文化的各個層面，帶來深刻的影響。

Through this, we hope to enable students to understand how Taoism penetrates into all aspects of Chinese literature, philosophy and culture, bringing profound influence.
