教育目標 Course Target
文化景觀是經由人們對自然景觀之作用而形成的:文化是原動力,自然地區是媒介,文化景觀是結果。在時間推移與多重文化一再介入之下,景觀不斷被改寫與疊加;舊有景觀的殘痕之上,覆蓋著新的使用方式、記憶與權力關係。這些變化不僅呈現人們如何理解地方、賦予地方何種價值,也形塑了未來空間治理的可能路徑。
本課程以公眾參與地理資訊系統(Public Participation GIS, PPGIS)為主要方法論,並以文化生態系服務(Cultural Ecosystem Services, CES)作為理論與價值框架,探討如何系統性蒐集與分析人們對環境的感知、地方認同與價值判斷,進而轉化為可支援決策的治理資訊。課程同時引入社會科學對「地方」、「參與」與「再現」的理論視角,協助學生理解:地方價值如何被建構、誰的聲音被地圖呈現或排除、以及地圖與敘事如何影響公共討論與治理選擇。
課程採「理論導入—參與式資料蒐集—空間與敘事分析—公共溝通」的循序方式進行。學生將學習以 PPGIS 工具與結構化提問蒐集在地故事與感受,完成資料清理與分類,並結合地圖呈現與敘事分析,將居民/使用者的經驗整合進景觀分析與政策討論之中。期末以 StoryMap 形式呈現成果,讓「地方故事+空間證據+理論解讀」成為可被理解、可被討論、也可作為治理溝通的知識產出,進一步理解 PPGIS 在景觀治理、社區管理與政策協作中的應用價值。
Cultural landscapes are formed through people's effects on natural landscapes: culture is the driving force, natural areas are the medium, and cultural landscapes are the results. With the passage of time and the repeated intervention of multiple cultures, the landscape is constantly rewritten and superimposed; the remnants of the old landscape are covered with new ways of use, memory and power relations. These changes not only reveal how people understand places and what value they attach to them, but also shape possible paths for future spatial governance.
This course uses Public Participation GIS (PPGIS) as the main methodology and Cultural Ecosystem Services (CES) as the theoretical and value framework to explore how to systematically collect and analyze people's perceptions of the environment, local identity and value judgments, and then transform them into governance information that can support decision-making. The course also introduces social science theoretical perspectives on "place", "participation" and "representation" to help students understand: how place value is constructed, whose voices are represented or excluded by maps, and how maps and narratives influence public discussions and governance choices.
The course is conducted in a sequential manner of "theoretical introduction - participatory data collection - spatial and narrative analysis - public communication". Students will learn to use PPGIS tools and structured questions to collect local stories and feelings, complete data cleaning and classification, and combine map presentation and narrative analysis to integrate residents/users' experiences into landscape analysis and policy discussions. At the end of the period, the results are presented in the form of StoryMap, making "local stories + spatial evidence + theoretical interpretation" a knowledge output that can be understood, discussed, and used as governance communication, to further understand the application value of PPGIS in landscape governance, community management, and policy collaboration.
