7098 - 材料體驗設計研究
教育目標 Course Target
本課程聚焦於材料體驗設計研究與循環材料之創作實踐,結合材料導向設計(Material-Driven Design, MDD)、數位製造與生成式 AI 工具協作,探討在遠距教學情境下,材料研究與設計實踐之方法與可能性。
課程初期:
本階段將建立可於遠距環境中執行之材料前處理操作流程(SOP),包含材料清洗、脫水、烘乾、研磨與保存等步驟,並以果渣、茶葉渣、豆渣(okara)等日常循環材料為研究對象,引導學生進行材料轉化實驗。學生需透過實作記錄、感官描述與影像文件,逐步建構個人化之「材料操作」方法,並運用生成式 AI 工具輔助材料特性之整理、操作條件之比較與實驗歷程之反思。
課程中期:
本階段將進一步導入材料體驗理論與相關設計研究案例,培養學生進行材料參數化思考與材料標準試片設計之能力。學生需規劃並執行小規模且具可重現性的材料實驗,整理實驗變因,分析並比較不同操作條件對材料性質所產生的影響,並延伸材料於數位製造應用中的可能性,如模具製作、簡易成形或數位製程輔助等。
課程後期:
本階段將引導學生深化材料理解與創作方向,整合材料研究歷程、實作成果與設計思考,發展具研究基礎之材料設計創作,並透過線上討論與個別回饋方式,強化其設計論述與研究表達能力。
課程成果:
1.完成至少一件以本學期所探索材料為基礎之個人產品設計創作。
2.編撰一本具系統性與可操作性的個人化材料操作手冊,完整記錄材料前處理、實驗歷程與操作重點。
3.撰寫一篇具研究脈絡之設計創作論述,說明材料研究背景、實驗方法、設計發展與反思。
This course focuses on the research on material experience design and the creation practice of recycled materials. It combines material-driven design (MDD), digital manufacturing and generative AI tool collaboration to explore the methods and possibilities of material research and design practice in the context of distance teaching.
Early course:
At this stage, a material pre-processing operation procedure (SOP) that can be executed in a remote environment will be established, including material cleaning, dehydration, drying, grinding and preservation. Daily recycled materials such as pomace, tea residue, and okara will be used as research objects to guide students to conduct material transformation experiments. Students need to gradually construct a personalized "material manipulation" method through practical records, sensory descriptions and image files, and use generative AI tools to assist in the organization of material properties, comparison of operating conditions and reflection on the experimental process.
Mid-course:
At this stage, material experience theory and related design research cases will be further introduced to cultivate students' ability to think about material parameters and design standard material specimens. Students need to plan and execute small-scale and reproducible materials experiments, sort out experimental variables, analyze and compare the effects of different operating conditions on material properties, and extend the possibilities of materials in digital manufacturing applications, such as mold making, simple forming, or digital process assistance.
Late course:
This stage will guide students to deepen their understanding of materials and their creative direction, integrate their material research process, practical results and design thinking, develop research-based material design creations, and strengthen their design discussion and research expression skills through online discussions and individual feedback.
Course Outcomes:
1. Complete at least one personal product design creation based on the materials explored this semester.
2. Compile a personalized material operation manual that is systematic and operable, and completely records the material pre-processing, experimental process and operation key points.
3. Write a discussion on design creation with a research context, explaining the material research background, experimental methods, design development and reflection.
