Innovative Architectural Design

Course Target

This program has undergone a significant curriculum restructuring and evolution. Building upon a foundation of theoretical knowledge, we integrate cutting-edge digital technologies with urban design through interdisciplinary practice, fostering continuous innovation in sustainable architecture and urban research. Recognizing the city as an organic whole deeply connected to its environment, this studio integrates architecture, technology, and environmental sustainability to redefine architectural prototypes centered on performance, perception, connectivity, and biophilia.

Continuing this interdisciplinary philosophy, this semester’s design studio merges the perspectives of "Reconstructing Nature" and "Form Follows Energy." Students will learn to integrate technologies such as BIM and parametric design—focusing on the evolution of materials, space, structure, and environmental performance—while simultaneously adopting a macro-scale urban perspective. By viewing architecture as part of an organic network, the course aims to drive innovation in professional architectural practice.

This course has undergone significant adjustments and evolutions in the content of the course, emphasizing the introduction of contemporary cutting-edge digital technology and urban design and "cross-field implementation" on the basis of knowledge theory, and continued research and design innovation in architecture and urban sustainability. The city is an organic whole, closely connected with the environment. This design course will integrate architecture, technology and sustainable environmental technology to redefine the architectural prototype with "efficiency, perception, connection, and pro-life" as the core values. This semester's design class will continue this cross-domain practice concept and integrate the architectural perspectives of "reconstructing nature" and "form follows energy". On the one hand, students will learn to integrate BIM, parametric design and other technologies, starting from materials, space, structure and environmental performance. On the other hand, they will start from the perspective of large-scale cities and environment, treat buildings as part of an organic network, and carry out design innovations in architectural practice.
