本課程關懷台灣半導體產業以及台積電的發展，在理論層次上引入全球化研究重要學派--曼徹斯特學派(Manchester School)的「全球生產網絡(Global Production Networks, GPN)s」的理論工具，介紹運用全球生產網絡理論分析台灣資訊電子業發展的研究成果，以及授課者關於台灣資訊電子產業的研究，並探究台積電晶圓代工生產網絡的競爭優勢，以及台積電在貿易戰與新地緣政治局勢下的挑戰。本課程提供修課同學關於台積電與資訊電子產業發展的新視角，參與者可運用全球生產網絡的理論工具梳理各自的研究問題，並搭建產業發展研究的新架構。
　　本課程將以seminar的方式進行，修課同學須認領各周文本導讀，並繳交期末報告(約一萬三千字)。本課程適合對於台積電、科學園區、資訊電子業、供應鏈管理、技術創新、全球化與地方發展有興趣的研究生以及大四學生參與，授課者將視修課同學的吸收情況，適度調整進度。

This course cares about the development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry and TSMC. It introduces the theoretical tools of the "Global Production Networks (GPNs)" of the Manchester School, an important school of globalization research, at a theoretical level. It introduces the research results of using global production network theory to analyze the development of Taiwan's information electronics industry, as well as the lecturer's research on Taiwan's information electronics industry. It also explores the competitive advantages of TSMC's foundry production network, as well as TSMC's challenges in the context of trade wars and new geopolitical situations. This course provides students with a new perspective on the development of TSMC and the information electronics industry. Participants can use the theoretical tools of global production networks to sort out their own research issues and build a new structure for industrial development research.
This course will be conducted in the form of a seminar. Students taking the course must receive a text guide for each week and submit a final report (approximately 13,000 words). This course is suitable for graduate students and senior students who are interested in TSMC, science parks, information electronics industry, supply chain management, technological innovation, globalization and local development. The instructor will adjust the pace appropriately based on the absorption of the students taking the course.
