社会におけるコミュニケーションは、言語を媒介として成立しており、教育・制度・権力・価値観と深く結びついている。本講義では、社会の中で言語やコミュニケーションがどのように用いられてきたのかを、社会的文脈に着目しながら理論的に考察する。
本講義では、書籍・論文、映像資料等を通したディスカッションを行い、理論と具体的事例を往還しながら理解を深める。これにより、受講者が自身の関心や研究テーマを社会的文脈の中に位置づけ、社会とコミュニケーションの関係を批判的かつ多角的に捉える視点を身につけることを目的とする。毎週講義後に内省シートを書いたり、クラスメイトの内省にコメントをするなどして、協働的な学習を目指す
