Sustainability Practice: Experiential Learning (Ⅱ)

教育目標 Course Target

本課程以 SDGs4「優質教育」為核心,透過環境、文化、生態、生活、社會實踐等五大永續領域,提供學生可操作、可落地的永續行動經驗。教學設計則透過可選擇之固定時段環境清掃學習、數位學習單元、生活節能技能、生態碳匯盤點、USR 行動與反思作業,強化學生自我管理及任務執行能力,以達成 SDGs4優質教育於文化 (共感東海)、環境 (清掃學習)、生態關懷、生活低碳、社會責任等面向所強調之教育品質提升。同時期許此實作型行動教學能協助學生在真實情境中強化跨情境能力,培養自律、適應力、韌性並理解校園落葉整理於減碳行動的重要性,奠基永續人才所需的公民素養、團隊精神與自我成長意識,以提升其未來在多元場域的競爭力。 課程設計兼顧TA管理流程,使逾 3000 多名修課學生能順利完成 18 小時課程時數。

This course takes SDGs4 "Quality Education" as the core and provides students with practical and implementable sustainable action experience through the five major sustainability fields of environment, culture, ecology, life, and social practice. The teaching design strengthens students' self-management and task execution abilities through optional fixed-period environmental cleaning learning, digital learning units, life energy-saving skills, ecological carbon sink inventory, and USR action and reflection assignments, in order to achieve the improvement of education quality emphasized by SDGs4 quality education in culture (feeling the East China Sea), environment (cleaning learning), ecological care, low-carbon life, social responsibility, etc. At the same time, it is hoped that this practical action teaching can help students strengthen cross-situational abilities in real situations, cultivate self-discipline, adaptability, resilience and understand the importance of campus defoliation in carbon reduction actions, and lay the foundation for the civic literacy, team spirit and self-growth awareness required for sustainable talents, so as to enhance their future competitiveness in multiple fields. The course design takes into account the TA management process, allowing more than 3,000 students to successfully complete the 18-hour course.

■ 學習活動與作業說明 (Learning Activities and Assignments)
本課程為東海大學校定必修之通識課程,依循聯合國 SDGs「永續發展目標」精神,將勞作教育設計為五大永續領域的實踐課程,透過實作、體驗、服務與反思,引導學生建立多元品格、永續素養與社會責任感,成為具全球視野的「全球東海人」。課程共規劃 18 小時,並依領域設定最低時數,同時提供 2 小時彈性自由時數,使學生能依興趣調整自身的永續學習路徑。課程方式涵蓋實體勞作、主題課程、走讀與數位課程,以提升彈性與自主性;同時以科技量化學生參與校園勞作時之減碳效益,使個人的學習行動具體連結永續貢獻。
一、課程架構與學習內容如下:
1.課程時數架構(18 小時)
(1)五大領域皆設定最低修習時數,環境永續領域為12小時,其餘永續領域為1至3小時。
(2)另提供 2 小時自由時數,可任選領域加深學習。
(3)課程採線上+線下混成模式,滿足多元學習需求。
2.環境永續領域(基本勞作 × 減碳實作, 12小時)
(1)以校園環境優化永續實作清掃學習為主體,培養學生自律、責任感與耐心。
(2)導入減碳計算科技,量化學生勞作的永續貢獻度。
(3)強化 SDG11「永續城市」、SDG13「氣候行動」之學習連結。
3.社會永續領域(USR × 公民行動,1小時)
(1)連結「大學社會責任(USR)」計畫。
(2)內容包含講座、公益服務、社區參與、走讀課程等。
(3)培養學生社會關懷與公共參與能力。
4.生活永續領域(節能 × 技能養成,1小時)
(1)包含吹風機、電風扇等節能操作課程。
(2)數位課程補充能源知識與生活低碳策略。
(3)促進 SDG12「負責任的消費與生產」的日常實踐。
5.生態永續領域(種 × 量 × 爬 生態體驗,1小時)
(1)「種」:認識校園植物與生態環境。
(2)「量」:參與樹胸徑、樹高等碳匯量測課程。
(3)「爬」:樹冠探索攀樹課程,透過體驗理解自然生態。
(4)促進 SDG15「陸域生態」素養。
6.文化永續領域(人文 x 數位學習,1小時)
(1)以東海大學文化資產與地方故事為核心。
(2)提供數位課程,如路思義教堂、東海校史、奧柏林中心等。
(3)透過文化理解深化學生與土地的連結。

■ Learning Activities and Assignments
This course is a compulsory general course at Tunghai University. Following the spirit of the United Nations SDGs "Sustainable Development Goals", work education is designed as a practical course in five sustainability fields. Through practice, experience, service and reflection, students are guided to establish diverse characters, sustainable qualities and social responsibility, and become "global Tunghai people" with a global perspective. The course is planned to last for 18 hours in total, with minimum hours set according to the field. It also provides 2 hours of flexible free hours, allowing students to adjust their own sustainable learning path according to their interests. The curriculum covers physical work, theme courses, day study and digital courses to enhance flexibility and autonomy; at the same time, technology is used to quantify the carbon reduction benefits of students' participation in campus work, so that individual learning actions can be concretely linked to sustainable contributions.
1. The course structure and learning content are as follows:
1. Course hours structure (18 hours)
(1) Minimum practice hours are set for each of the five major areas. The environmental sustainability area is 12 hours, and the other sustainability areas are 1 to 3 hours.
(2) An additional 2 hours of free time are provided to deepen learning in any field.
(3) The course adopts a hybrid online + offline model to meet diverse learning needs.
2. Environmental sustainability field (basic work × carbon reduction practice, 12 hours)
(1) Cultivate students' self-discipline, sense of responsibility and patience by focusing on the study of campus environment optimization and sustainable implementation of cleaning.
(2) Introduce carbon reduction calculation technology to quantify the sustainable contribution of students’ work.
(3) Strengthen the learning link between SDG11 "Sustainable Cities" and SDG13 "Climate Action".
3. Social Sustainability Field (USR × Citizen Action, 1 hour)
(1) Link to the "University Social Responsibility (USR)" project.
(2) The content includes lectures, public welfare services, community participation, day courses, etc.
(3) Cultivate students’ social care and public participation abilities.
4. The field of sustainable life (energy saving × skill development, 1 hour)
(1) Including courses on energy-saving operation of hair dryers, electric fans, etc.
(2) Digital courses supplement energy knowledge and low-carbon life strategies.
(3) Promote the daily practice of SDG12 "Responsible consumption and production".
5. Ecological sustainability field (species × quantity × climbing ecological experience, 1 hour)
(1) "Plant": Understand campus plants and ecological environment.
(2) "Quantity": Participate in carbon sequestration measurement courses such as tree diameter at breast height and tree height.
(3) "Climbing": Canopy exploration tree climbing course, understanding the natural ecology through experience.
(4) Promote SDG15 "terrestrial ecology" literacy.
6. Cultural Sustainability Field (Humanities x Digital Learning, 1 hour)
(1) Focusing on the cultural assets and local stories of Tunghai University.
(2) Provide digital courses, such as Rutherford Church, Donghai School History, Oberlin Center, etc.
(3) Deepen the connection between students and the land through cultural understanding.
