教育目標 Course Target
- To provide background for understanding developments in AI
- To apply this understanding to uncover and critically assess the sort of relationship students want to cultivate with AIs.
- To understand common misconceptions about how AIs work and what this means for assessing our relationships to them.
- To explore the origins of current approaches to AI, why those approaches failed for decades, and what led to an explosion in their progress in the last few years.
- To trace AI performance back to the human creations used to train them
- To consider implications of humans inventing technologies which they themselves do not understand.
- To examine impacts of recent AI systems, what our everyday experiences with AI can reveal about our values, and how we might make informed decisions once we become aware of these values
- To read and understand divergent views of key researchers in AI
- To probe behind current headlines and news stories where AI plays a role
- To design and run experiments that help us developed an informed relationship with AI.
