Seminar on Global Citizenship Issues(II)

Course Target

Global warming, food shortages, population explosion, the new coronavirus, the combination of AI and the Internet of Things, populism, religious conflicts, wars, genetic modification, fake news, ChatGPT... Various crises threatening the earth are becoming increasingly serious. Let us care about the earth together and do our part for the earth, starting with our own learning. Over the years, the United Nations system has provided important information on global issues that cannot be fully solved by any one country and require collaborative efforts. This course attempts to select some of the phenomena occurring in our environment from these topics for in-depth knowledge and understanding. It is hoped that through discussion, we can deepen our understanding of these problems and think about how to face and solve these problems. This semester, we have chosen topics such as capitalism, globalization, anti-globalization and deglobalization (glocalization), global climate change and green economy to discuss with you.
1. Know what important issues are happening in the world that affect your and my lives, and examine them from multiple perspectives.
2. Think about what kind of cultural and natural environment background, or what kind of power structure, interest relationships, or even ways of thinking affect these issues?
3. Practice looking for information and learn to learn independently.
4. Learn multiple perspectives (empathy), sincere listening, rational discussion, and team responsibility.
