Esports, Speedrunning, and Video Games
教育目標 Course Target
This course examines what video games are doing and why it matters. We look at questions like: Are esports really sports? What counts as an exploit vs. cheating? Who gets to set the rules for playing games? When (if ever) is doing “bad” things in a game actually wrong?
We’ll ground every discussion in real cases – we’ll play classic games in class and watch speedruns – and use them to test ideas about rules, fairness, and responsibility in play.
