本課程希望藉由初、中級華語文之學習，讓學習者能具備其基本生存語言及其相關溝通素養能力，並且藉此瞭解現今當下生活環境之社會概況及其文化特質。本課程強調：語言活用、生活實踐、適應環境、知識連貫、跨文化比較，以及認識台灣自然環境、台灣社會時事、台灣歷史發展，及其相關文化現象。最終，希冀本課程之設計，能強化學習者之華語文之閱讀與寫作能力。

This course hopes that through the study of elementary and intermediate Chinese language, learners can acquire basic survival language and related communication literacy skills, and thereby understand the social profile and cultural characteristics of today's living environment. This course emphasizes: language usage, life practice, adapting to the environment, knowledge coherence, cross-cultural comparison, and understanding of Taiwan’s natural environment, Taiwan’s social current affairs, Taiwan’s historical development, and related cultural phenomena. Ultimately, it is hoped that the design of this course can strengthen learners' reading and writing skills in Chinese.
