2822 - General Physics 英授 Taught in English
General Physics
教育目標 Course Target
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of physics with an emphasis on conceptual understanding and real-world relevance. It begins with essential mathematical tools, particularly vectors, which are required for analyzing physical phenomena. The course then develops core concepts of classical mechanics, including motion, force, momentum, work, energy, and power.
In the second half of the semester, the course transitions to waves and electromagnetism. Students will explore electric and magnetic forces and their sources, followed by acoustic and electromagnetic waves, and an introduction to geometrical optics. If time permits, selected topics from quantum and particle physics will be introduced to provide students with a broader perspective on modern physics.
By the end of the course, students will have acquired foundational analytical tools and physical intuition necessary for further studies in science, engineering, sustainability, and related interdisciplinary fields. Course pacing and depth will be adjusted according to student background and learning progress.
