一、本課程主要是以民法繼承編即民法第1138條至1223條之規範內容及其立法緣由、沿革為講授重點，並輔以相關法規，如家事事件法、臺灣地區與大陸地區人民關係條例等規定。
二、講授與親屬法相關之實務見解，如大法官釋字437、712、771號等解釋，及相關實務案例研析。並輔以與繼承法相關之社會新聞案例加以引導，期使學生在學習民法繼承編法條時，能夠法條與社會生活事實相互勾稽，並知悉如何適用繼承法。
三、除國內法規及實務見解外，並講授與繼承法相關之國際人權公約等，期使同學在理解、適用繼承法等基本概念外，並思考國際人權公約宗旨與精神，進而引導並反思我國繼承法之規範與其社會價值之意義。

1. This course mainly focuses on the inheritance of civil law, that is, the normative content of Articles 1138 to 1223 of the Civil Code, as well as the legislative reasons and evolution, and is supplemented by relevant laws and regulations, such as the Family Affairs Law, the Regulations on Relations between People of Taiwan and the Mainland, etc.
2. Teach practical insights related to family law, such as the interpretations of Justice Interpretation No. 437, 712, and 771, as well as the analysis of relevant practical cases. It is also guided by social news cases related to inheritance law, so that when students study civil law inheritance provisions, they can interrelate the legal provisions with the facts of social life and know how to apply inheritance law.
3. In addition to domestic laws and regulations and practical insights, international human rights conventions related to inheritance law will also be taught. It is hoped that students will not only understand and apply basic concepts such as inheritance law, but also think about the purpose and spirit of international human rights conventions, and then guide and reflect on the significance of the norms of inheritance law in our country and its social value.

某人死亡時，其一切的權利義務，須於一定秩序外，有人為之受；而其生前所扶養的親屬或家屬，為維持生活，乃須依賴遺產。本課程即在研討繼承關係及遺產繼承等諸問題，民法繼承之規定。

When someone dies, all his rights and obligations must be taken over by someone outside a certain order; and the relatives or family members he supported during his lifetime must rely on the inheritance to maintain their livelihood. This course studies various issues such as inheritance relations and inheritance, as well as the provisions of civil law inheritance.
