本課程主要以永續發展之健康福祉為導向，了解國際世界衛生組織的ICF架構，配合國內長照3.0制度施行與社會處方簽推行。課程目標從專業音樂治療基礎角度切入，區分樂齡、高齡、超高齡的界定，認識高齡長者身體、認知、溝通、情緒心理與社會互動五大現況，熟悉高齡長者相關疾病與症狀（如：早發失智症、失智症），了解高齡長者聽力與聽知覺能力，並學習高齡長者音樂活動相關設計，提升高齡者存留以及可開發的音樂表現能力，促進高齡者自信心並達到提升生活品質與活動參與之目的。凡喜歡音樂、歌唱、願意學習以音樂活動方式服務高齡者之學生，均歡迎選修本課程。
