Diversity, Oppression and Social Justice in Social Work

本課程以多交織性為基礎設計,探討社會工作專業在面對族群、種族、性別、性取向與身心障礙等多元群體時應具備的文化敏感度與批判意識。課程將分析社會、政治與文化如何交織影響不同群體間與群體內的權力關係,關注受壓迫或邊緣化群體的處境與挑戰。透過理論學習與反思討論,學生將培養以文化為根基的社會工作取向,理解多元與壓迫的結構性脈絡,並思考社會工作者作為文化學習者與社會改變推動者的角色,進而發展以包容、公平與社會正義為核心的專業視角。

本課程可能觸及某些敏感或情緒性議題。若在學習過程中感到不適,請照顧好自己的身心狀態。你可以選擇暫時離開教室、課後與我討論,或尋求學校諮商中心等資源協助。

※This course will include English readings, a large number of course discussions, and a final achievement exhibition, which may not be helpful for the social worker exam. Please think twice before choosing a course.

This course is designed based on intersectionality and explores the cultural sensitivity and critical awareness that social work professionals should possess when facing diverse groups such as ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, and physical and mental disabilities. The course will analyze how society, politics and culture intersect to influence power relations between and within different groups, focusing on the situations and challenges of oppressed or marginalized groups. Through theoretical study and reflective discussion, students will develop a social work orientation rooted in culture, understand the structural context of diversity and oppression, and consider the role of social workers as cultural learners and social change agents, thereby developing a professional perspective with inclusion, equity and social justice as its core.

This course may touch on some sensitive or emotional issues. If you feel uncomfortable during the learning process, please take care of your physical and mental state. You can choose to leave the classroom temporarily, discuss with me after class, or seek assistance from resources such as the school counseling center.
