Cultural Diversity and Social Work
教育目標 Course Target
本課程以多元文化觀點為核心,探討社會工作在多元族群與不平等結構中的專業角色與實踐方式。課程目標在於引導學生理解文化差異如何形塑個人經驗、社會互動與制度運作,並培養助人者在跨文化情境中的自我覺察、文化敏感度與反思能力。課程內容首先從助人者文化能力的養成出發,協助學生檢視自身價值、偏見與專業位置,進而理解文化、權力與身分認同之交織關係。其次,透過新住民、移工與新二代等議題,介紹臺灣多元文化社會中不同族群的生活處境與服務需求,並結合第一線社工的實務經驗,深化學生對多元文化社會工作實踐的理解。課程亦透過專題演講、案例討論與反思作業,引導學生將理論與實務連結,培養其尊重差異、回應不平等,並以人權與社會正義為導向的專業態度。
This course takes multicultural perspectives as its core and explores the professional role and practice of social work in diverse ethnic groups and unequal structures. The goal of the course is to guide students to understand how cultural differences shape personal experience, social interaction, and institutional operations, and to cultivate helpers' self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, and reflective abilities in cross-cultural situations. The content of the course first starts from the cultivation of the cultural competency of helping others, helping students examine their own values, prejudices and professional status, and then understand the intertwined relationship between culture, power and identity. Secondly, through topics such as new residents, migrant workers and the new second generation, the living conditions and service needs of different ethnic groups in Taiwan's multicultural society are introduced, and combined with the practical experience of frontline social workers, it deepens students' understanding of multicultural social work practice. The course also guides students to connect theory and practice through special lectures, case discussions and reflection assignments, cultivating their professional attitude of respecting differences, responding to inequality, and being oriented towards human rights and social justice.
