Public Issues and Social Practice
教育目標 Course Target
本課程結合「知識素養」與「社會實踐」,讓學生透過「公共事務的實踐」,培養「發現和解決問題」的能力。課程的進行方式如下:首先,在「知識素養」單元中,將介紹下列公共議題,包括:當代的全球化世界、經濟全球化、全球治理、海洋漁業治理、以及台灣的毒性物質汙染等。其次,在「社會實踐」單元中,以「知識素養」講授的題材為基礎,修課同學選定一個地點進行調查。進一步了解該地點的需改善之處,並將相關意見提交給政府機構,完成公共事務的實踐。
具體而言,「社會實踐」的操作方式分成兩種方案,同學可自行擇一執行:方案一,調查型參與(Survey-Based Participation):設計問卷並利用網路平台訪問民眾,瞭解該地點的優缺點,並透過電子郵件向政府機關提交政策建議書。方案二,行動型參與(Action-Based Participation):親身參與該地點舉辦的活動,此活動必須和您選擇的議題相關。紀錄實踐的過程,並訪問其他參與活動的夥伴(面訪或問卷),瞭解其中的收穫與挑戰。最後,同學們將上台發表成果,並撰寫社會實踐報告。
This course combines "knowledge literacy" and "social practice" to allow students to develop the ability to "discover and solve problems" through "the practice of public affairs". The course proceeds as follows: First, in the "Knowledge Literacy" unit, the following public issues will be introduced, including: the contemporary globalized world, economic globalization, global governance, marine fishery governance, and toxic pollution in Taiwan. Secondly, in the "Social Practice" unit, based on the subject matter taught in "Knowledge Literacy", the course students selected a location for investigation. Learn more about the areas for improvement in the location and submit relevant comments to government agencies to complete the practice of public affairs.
Specifically, the operation method of "Social Practice" is divided into two options, and students can choose one to implement: Option 1, Survey-Based Participation: Design a questionnaire and use an online platform to interview people to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the place, and submit policy recommendations to government agencies via email. Option 2, Action-Based Participation: Personally participate in activities held at the location. This activity must be related to the topic you choose. Record the practice process and interview other partners who participated in the activity (in person or through questionnaires) to understand the gains and challenges. Finally, students will go on stage to present their results and write a social practice report.
