The main goal of this course is to introduce to students the findings of today's behavioral economics and their impact on mainstream economic theory. Behavioral economics is an interdisciplinary subject. In addition to economic theory, it also includes research in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience and other fields. This course will introduce classic behavioral experiments, different modes and effects of behavioral decision-making in an easy-to-understand way, and explore people's two major thinking systems of intuition and logic, shortcuts and biases, and overconfidence. Through the study of the course, we can understand how irrational emotions and feelings affect our behavior beyond rationality. Questions that cannot be answered by traditional economics can be perfectly answered in behavioral economics.
