This course is designed to help undergraduate students with non-science and engineering backgrounds establish good basic concepts of calculus and mathematical thinking skills. The course content covers limits, continuity, derivatives, integrals and their applications, emphasizing intuitive understanding and practical application, reducing the abstraction of mathematical theory, and improving students' learning interest and independent learning ability.

Through this course, students will be able to master the application methods of calculus in social sciences, management and other fields, and have the ability to apply mathematical tools to solve practical problems. In addition, the course also focuses on training students' logical reasoning, systematic analysis and mathematical expression skills, cultivating their cross-field integration and analytical qualities, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent professional courses.
