教育目標 Course Target
此課程是以歷史地理學為首要視角,空間型態學、地圖學、地誌學等學問為輔,以此理解台灣在時間流變上於空間的構成與變遷,並學習以符號、圖像分析的方法、地形模型製作的手段,來具體且細緻地建構還原史地空間,是將學術理論與研究實務結合的專業課程。課程分為以下部分:
課程一開始傳授歷史地理學的學術基礎與空間研究相關的理論知識。藉此建構學習者理解作為一個現象觀察者如何將空間與時間的觀念融會貫通,使學習者有系統邏輯的思維來解析時間的斷面與空間積累上的分析。此部分先以地形、地質、氣候與水文的分析元素來說明台灣的空間在各種營力等自然地理機制,如何形成出台灣的地貌與土地特徵。而後再以經濟生產角度闡述人類社會在其土地利用上的演變,如何造成社會與人文的地景,以及地理區位上的差異化。
其後,課程在期中試驗過後開始講授地圖學、符號學、空間形態學等概念,並將上述相關概念所應用的學術實務進行案例說明。待修習者已掌握空間再現與建構的思維後,以示範的方式傳授空間立體化再現,也就是地形地貌模型製作的技術。此時實務操演是將研究上可採用的台灣歷史地圖、歷史影像相關的資訊系統化整理,並使用網路資源檔案與應用學術資料庫。
簡要來說,本課程最大的特徵便是讓學習者在學習完學理基礎、理解台灣史地特色後,自行選定一特定範圍之區域,將該場域的空間特質與資訊以立體化圖像的方式呈現,藉空間還原過程來明瞭台灣歷史地理,是一個學術表現法的實務學習課程。
This course takes historical geography as the primary perspective, supplemented by spatial morphology, cartography, topography and other knowledge, in order to understand the composition and changes of space in Taiwan over time, and learn to use symbols, image analysis methods, and terrain model production methods to specifically and meticulously construct and restore historical and geographical space. It is a professional course that combines academic theory with research practice. The course is divided into the following parts:
At the beginning of the course, the academic foundation of historical geography and theoretical knowledge related to spatial research are taught. This builds learners' understanding of how to integrate the concepts of space and time as a phenomenon observer, allowing learners to have systematic and logical thinking to analyze time sections and spatial accumulation. This part first uses the analytical elements of topography, geology, climate and hydrology to explain how Taiwan's space and various forces and other natural geographical mechanisms form Taiwan's landforms and land characteristics. Then, from the perspective of economic production, it explains how the evolution of human society in its land use has resulted in social and cultural landscapes, as well as differences in geographical location.
Afterwards, after the mid-term test, the course began to teach concepts such as cartography, semiotics, and spatial morphology, and provided case studies on the application of the above-mentioned related concepts in academic practice. After the practitioners have mastered the thinking of spatial representation and construction, three-dimensional representation of space, which is the technology of making terrain and landform models, will be taught through demonstration. The practical operation at this time is to systematically organize information related to Taiwan's historical maps and historical images that can be used for research, and to use online resource files and applied academic databases.
Briefly speaking, the biggest feature of this course is that after learning the academic foundation and understanding the historical and geographical characteristics of Taiwan, learners can select a specific area, present the spatial characteristics and information of the area in a three-dimensional image, and use the spatial restoration process to understand Taiwan's historical geography. It is a practical learning course based on academic representation.
