以美蘇兩國為首的民主和共產陣營，於第二次世界大戰後開始形成，至1991年蘇聯解體而告結束。約半個世紀之中，冷戰時期的對抗影響許多國家的政治、經濟與文化，兩個陣營也在世界不同地區
發生局部軍事衝突。本課程針對冷戰時期的歷史，作一全面介紹。本課程帶領學生討論二戰結束後至1991年蘇聯解體，以美蘇為首二元冷戰體系的形成，如何影響世界局勢變化，直至當代社會。授課老師將搭配相關史料、照片等素材，從美、蘇兩國的視角，透視其國內政治、社會經濟、思想文化、領導人特質等因素，對於雙方制定外交政策的作用。

The democratic and communist camps, led by the United States and the Soviet Union, began to form after World War II and ended with the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991. For about half a century, the Cold War-era confrontation affected the politics, economy, and culture of many countries, and the two camps also affected different parts of the world.
Local military conflicts occurred. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the history of the Cold War. This course leads students to discuss how the formation of the dual Cold War system led by the United States and the Soviet Union from the end of World War II to the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991 affected the changes in the world situation and even contemporary society. The lecturer will use relevant historical materials, photos and other materials to examine the role of domestic politics, socio-economics, ideological culture, leadership characteristics and other factors in the formulation of foreign policies from the perspectives of the United States and the Soviet Union.
