Advanced Design Research - Space Architecture

教育目標 Course Target

Space Architecture and City Design is an interdisciplinary field that involves the planning and design of architecture and its agglomeration in system and sub-systems in extreme environments on earth and in space. This module is one of top architecture program that directly investigate design approaches to space facilities, human-support and liveable space architecture and city. Space architecture discipline is inclusive of ocean facilities, polar research stations, human disaster accommodations, aerospace craft, mobility and station design, orbiting space stations, sphere settlement design, habitation and city’s life systems integration design, etc. A few degree programs offered in space architecture around the globe, and one of the unique kind offered by the University of Houston (USA), Cullen College’s space architecture program, involves engineers and architects teaming up to design missions and operations from the ground up. Their work includes orbital mechanics, human habitats, logistics, design for extreme environments, life support systems, human factors and launch capability, design integration on habitation and space city, etc. The operational center for U. of Houston’s program is the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA), which is internationally-recognized as the center that both defines and leads the space architecture field.
Differentiating from SICSA, this elective, is concentrated other than engineering feasibility research, but first and foremost, the totality design to human operators and space inhabitants to be considered while designing Space Architecture and City. Home-grounding to sustainable and resilient design issues confronting Taiwan's future environment, identity and characteristics to be explored in space architecture and city. This module can be used for graduate student's design thesis preparation in space architecture and city design.

Degree of individual’s learning consistency, assessment performance level, quality of continuous assessment and learning attitudes.
Team works
Team works
30 How well do your team demonstrate professional attitude and presentation qualities, which include all elements of space architecture design, dimensions on consideration and space and extreme environmental factors, and quality of space architecture design scheme by clearly presenting significant issues, ability to crystallize problems for simulating and mitigating negative functions and elevating human needs; How well do the team provide future space architecture and simulating for extreme enviro
TA Assessments
TA Assessments
20 TA will be evaluating weekly progress and making learning records for contributing to 20% of the overall grade. In the case of no TA available for the semester, the 20% will be break-down added to: Individual Contribution (+10%); Team works (+10%))
